By using Lancashire Young People's Service web site, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Use").

Basic Terms

  1. You accept responsibility for any activity that occurs under your username.

  2. You agree that any content created and posted by you on Lancashire Young People's Service web site is posted with your permission and therefore not in breach of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988

  3. You may not post, transmit or share on Lancashire Young People's Service web site any content that you did not create.

  4. You accept responsibility for keeping your password secure.

  5. You may not use Lancashire Young People's Service web site for any illegal purpose.

  6. Whilst Lancashire County Council prohibits such conduct and content as described above (Basic Terms) on this site and takes every possible measure to ensure the content of Lancashire Young People's Service web site is acceptable having regard to the Basic Terms, you accept that Lancashire County Council cannot be responsible for the content posted on its web site. As a result, you understand and accept that you may be exposed to such prohibited materials and accept that you use Lancashire Young People's Service web site at your own risk.

 

General Conditions

  1. We reserve the right to alter or amend as appropriate these Terms of Use at any time. If the alterations constitute a material change to the Terms of Use, we will notify you. What constitutes a "material change" will be determined at our sole discretion.

  2. We reserve the right, in accordance with any applicable laws, to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

  3. We reserve the right to modify or terminate the Lancashire Young People's Service web site service for any reason, without notice at any time.

  4. We may, although we are not obliged to, remove Content and accounts containing Content that we determine in our sole discretion are unlawful, offensive, threatening, libellous, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party's intellectual property or these Terms of Use.

  5. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames on behalf of businesses or individuals that hold legal claim or trademark on those usernames.

Copyright (Who own's what?)

  1. We confirm that we will claim no intellectual property rights over the Content that you post on this Lancashire Young People's Service web site service. Your profile and Content as uploaded remain your own. You can remove your profile at any time by deleting your account. This will also remove any text and images you have stored in the system.

  2. We undertake to obey all relevant copyright laws. We will review all claims of copyright infringement received and remove content deemed to have been posted or distributed in violation of any such laws. To make a claim, please provide us with the following:

    1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or the person authorised to act on their behalf;
    2. A description of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
    3. A description of the material believed to be an infringement of copyright and information that is sufficient to enable us to locate the material ie a link (URL) to the material in question;
    4. Your contact details, including an address, telephone number, and email address;
    5. Written confirmation from you that you have an honest belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  3. You may be required to provide a further statement that the information in the written confirmation is true to the best of your knowledge and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Organisations

 

  1. We offer an advertising forum only and expect young people and parents to make informed decisions based on standard safeguarding measures, and as such, will strive to inform our website users of the minimum requirements that the YPS would expect your organisation to have in place if you are providing activities for young people.
  2. These requirements are based upon general guidance covering industry standard frameworks for safeguarding young people while they take part in any activity.
  3. The Young People's Service and Lancashire County Council as an organisation cannot vet, or control other organisations as we don't have the right, power or capacity to do so. Lancashire County Council, does not in any way endorse, or seek to promote in particular any provider of activities that may post on the site. As such Lancashire County Council does not accept responsibility for the quality of any information that is posted on this site (www.lancashire.gov.uk/yps). Lancashire County Council will, however ensure that a reasonable system for complaint and for reporting any unsuitable postings on the site is put in place, and monitored frequently. We also allow users to express any concerns they may have about an activity or organisation advertised on this site.
  4. We also offer a user feedback feature on our site, and cannot be held responsible for comments made on the site about your service; it is the right of any user of your service to inform others of their experience of your organisation, positive or negative.
  5. We may share content created by an organisation on our web site within Lancashire County Council and our partners.
