The application for YPS registration scheme is divided into two sections:
Section one (PPA)
for ALL organisations working with or providing services for young people. YPS provides a 'one stop shop' on the web called Go4it where organisations can publicise and promote activities to young people. Any organisation, including commercial, public sector and voluntary are encouraged to register to promote their activities so that all young people can see what is happening in their area.

- Advice on approach to using the website as a means to publicise
- Be part of a bigger programme of publicising in your area
- Help create a well publicised map of young people's facilities and assets in your area
Section two (Full)
For Voluntary, Community, Faith and Third Sector organisations providing structured and planned opportunities for young people, leading to the development of young people's personal and social education.
You should apply to register with YPS if you offer or are working towards the following:
- Work with young people 13-19 (up to 25 for young people with learning difficulties or disabilities)
- Have a commitment and practice in engaging and involving young people in decision-making about the programmes you run
- Operate planned programmes which have personal and social educational outcomes
- Have a constitution or one under development with a leadership group
- Have a child safeguarding policy and associated practices including CRB checks in place or be working towards one being in place within three months
- Have a Health and Safety policy and associated practices including risk assessment in place
- Maintain a set of annual accounts maintained by a named responsible individual
- Publicise positive activities through Go4it

- Gain access for your young people to the local and Lancashire Youth Councils
