The Scouts is for young people, usually aged between 10.5 and 14 years. A young person can come in to the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 15 years old.

The food and culture festival takes place across the Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Rossendale, Burnley and Pendle districts. If it’s summer in Pennine Lancashire, it’s festival time – and food lovers can experience extraordinary adventures as the area once again celebrates its fantastic food and culture. In four short years, the Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food & Culture has become a main feature of the regional events calendar, with more than 150,000 people experiencing this colourful annual carnival to date.

Padiham Scout group is made up of a Scout Troop for members aged 11 - 14 and a Young Leaders Troop members aged 14 – 18 (part of Burnley Explorers)

Anyone between 6-18 can join the group regardless of disability or sex. The group is fullly co-educational and accept both girls as well as boys. The Scouts meet at St John's RC School, St John's Road, Padiham.

The Scouts have a great time and take part in lots of exciting activities. If you want to make new friends and learn new skills, joining the scouts is a fun way to do so!

The Army Cadet Force is one of the UK’s oldest, largest and most successful youth organisations. They develop young people physically and mentally, improving self-confidence, teamwork, friendship and leadership. They welcome cadets of all abilities and backgrounds and aim to instill in their cadets a strong sense of community. As well as improving all manner of skills, activities are adventurous and fun. Cadets learn self-sufficiency in the field, how to handle arms, camouflage and concealment, and how to survive in the wild with only a sleeping bag and some army rations.

Burnley Bears is a sports club designed for children with Special Needs Aged 8-19 years old. Burnley Bears Sports club are now at BBTEN every Tuesday Evening between 6 pm - 8 pm at a cos of £3 per session. BBTEN is the sports hall and facility shared by Sir John Thursby and Ridgewood Community High Schools.

St Andrew's Scout Group are a medium sized "open" Scout group based at the Church Hall at Saint Andrew's, located on the traffic island in the middle of the Duke Bar gyratory system in Burnley. They also have an Adventurer Unit which although it is not affiliated to the Scout Association, is run along the ethics and foundings of Scouting for young adults.  Scouting has welcomed girls in to it's various ranks for quite a few years, however since the 1st January 2007 Scouting officially became co-educational by law.
